Luno has signed up over 1 million customers on its cryptocurrency-to-fiat exchange.
Luno is based in London and operates in over 40 countries, including South Africa.
The company offers exchange facilities for Bitcoin and Ethereum, in addition to a cryptocurrency wallet for both tokens.
The exchange facilitates over 2,000 BTC worth of transactions per day, with over 750 BTC worth of transactions occurring in South Africa.
“Over the past few years, we’ve stayed laser-focused on making Luno the easiest place to buy digital currencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum,” said Luno CEO Marcus Swanepoel.
“Getting fast and friendly access to digital currencies is still the biggest pain point for most people, and core to our mission of making digital currencies safely and easily accessible for everyone, everywhere.”
Luno recently launched across Europe and is expanding rapidly, due to the increasing demand for cryptocurrency.
