Intel launches Hyperledger Sawtooth blockchain

Intel has launched its Hyperledger Sawtooth blockchain platform, CoinDesk reported.

Version 1.0 of the open-source platform has been released and aims to provide a distributed and safe smart contract service for enterprise customers.

Sawtooth is a modular blockchain which is compatible with any application code, and supports configurable transactions rules and consensus mechanisms.

Intel has confirmed that Sawtooth is also hardware-agnostic.

Huawei, Amazon, and T-Mobile are reportedly already building applications on the Sawtooth blockchain.
