UK forms cryptocurrency task force
The United Kingdom has announced the creation of a specialised crypto-assets task force, ETHNews reported.
The task force comprises the Bank of England, HM Treasury, and the Financial Conduct Authority, and aims to investigate the risks and applications of blockchain technologies.
The UK government also said it would create a “UK-Australia Fintech Bridge”, with the aim of evolving fintech industries in both countries.
Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond said the creation of the fintech bridge and cryptocurrency task force would ensure the UK remains “at the cutting edge of the digital revolution”.
