Prepare for heavy load shedding on Sunday

Eskom announced on Friday that load shedding would be implemented on Sunday from 08:00 until 22:00.
“While we do not anticipate that there will be a need to implement load shedding tomorrow [Saturday], there will be load shedding on Sunday from 08:00 until 22:00,” Eskom said in a statement.
“This will be in an effort to build up reserves for the coming week. We would like to thank our customers for their patience and support in using electricity sparingly during the early morning and evening peak periods.
“Every little bit of savings goes a long way in assisting us to manage the demand and supply of electricity and to eliminate the need for load shedding.
“In winter, the electricity demand peaks in the morning and evening as more electricity is used during these times.
“We appeal to all our customers to continue to reduce their electricity usage throughout the day, but to be aware of the need to save more during the peak periods from 06:00 to 10:00 and 17:00 to 21:00.
“As temperatures drop, we urge electricity users to consider energy efficient ways of keeping warm,” Eskom said.
