Google to run on 100% renewable energy

Google has announced that all its operations will be powered by 100% renewable energy before the end of 2017.

“This includes our data centres, which support our millions of customers on Google Cloud,” said Google.

The company said 2017 marks its 10th year of carbon neutrality, and that environmental impact is an important factor for all businesses to consider.

As detailed in the graph below, Google obtains most of its renewable energy in the form of wind power, followed by solar power.
