MTN has added fibre-to-the-home to its coverage map, revealing where the operator plans to launch fibre broadband services in South Africa.

The coverage map shows that MTN will focus on affluent areas in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Midrand, Pretoria, and Durban.

Last year MTN said its FTTH services will initially be rolled out in “high-density urban areas, such as high-end gated communities, boomed-off suburbs, and high-rise buildings”.

The company also unveiled its FTTH prices, which range between R794 and R1,389 for speeds between 20Mbps and 100Mbps.

“You can choose from 10GB; 20GB; 50GB; 100GB; 500GB data bundles and from 20Mbps, 50Mbps and 100Mbps line speeds,” MTN said.
