New fibre-to-the-home suburbs announced
Six more Johannesburg suburbs have thrown their weight behind Vumatel to provide FTTH to their communities.
Hurlingham, Glenadrienne, Hyde Park, Northcliff, Sharonlea, and Olivedale have joined a growing list of residents’ associations that have opted for Vuma Fibre.
According to Giorgio Iovino, sales director at Vumatel, they are currently installing FTTH in Saxonwold, Parkwood, Riviera, and Killarney.
Installations in Victory Park, Linden, Bryanston South, and Blairgowrie are scheduled to begin in October.
“With these new suburbs, we will have provided services to over 30,000 homes by February next year,” said Iovino.
Vumatel said it is currently making its infrastructure available to approximately 2,000 new homes a month.
“Based on demand, we will need to make services available to a further 100,000 homes next year,” said Vumatel.
Residents in the newly-announced areas can express their interest in fibre services at www.vumatel.co.za.
“Once enough interest has been gathered from residents in the new suburbs, Vumatel will commit to roll out fibre in 2016.”
