Telkom’s new 100Mbps fibre-to-the-home areas revealed

Telkom fibre

Telkom’s open-access fibre broadband network will include more than 25 additional areas, suburbs, and communities by the end of September 2015.

Telkom has the largest open-access fibre network in the country, and fibre is available in multiple suburbs of Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Cape Town, Bloemfontein, and Port Elizabeth.

The news follows CEO Sipho Maseko’s commitment on 7 September that Telkom fibre will be accessible to one million homes by March 2018 – with half a million homes to have access by the end of 2016.

Telkom already has the largest FTTH network in the country, with 38,000 homes able to access the service.
