5Gbps residential broadband services trialled

UK service provider Gigaclear has launched Britain’s fastest Internet package for retail customers, providing speeds of up to 5Gbps.

The H5G and B5G services – for home and business customers – will be available from early 2016 through Gigaclear’s existing fibre-to-the-premises network.

“We’re offering customers the chance to access absolutely phenomenal broadband speeds. To be clear, this is a premium service that gives the fastest Internet speeds in the country,” said Gigaclear.

The packages are now on trial with select Gigaclear customers, and will be rolled out to all Gigaclear users from 2016.

The H5G package is expected to cost £399 (R8,600) per month including VAT, while the business package will costs £1,500 (R32,400) per month excluding VAT.
