New fibre-to-the-home player, powered by Seacom

Phoenix Telecoms is rolling out fibre-to-the-home services in South Africa, offering uncapped, unshaped connections with speeds ranging between 5Mbps and 100Mbps.

Phoenix Telecoms is powered by Seacom, and is supported by Blue Sky Communications and Wasp High Speed Internet.

Blue Sky Communications is a global communication solutions company, developing, building, and operating satellite networks since 1997.

Wasp High Speed Internet is a wireless provider, offering Internet access via hotspots across the country.

Phoenix Telecoms’ fibre connections are symmetrical (download and upload speeds are the same) and uncapped accounts do not have a fair usage policy.

The company uses Seacom’s fibre network to provide services, with coverage in many areas in Gauteng.

Should it not be viable to provide a fibre link to an area, Phoenix Telecoms offers uncontended wireless connections to homes.

The map below shows where Phoenix Telecoms has coverage. Not all homes in these areas are guaranteed access to a fibre connection.
