SEACOM has launched new points of presence in Rwanda and Botswana, through partnerships with local providers.
“Rwanda and Botswana have both historically relied on costly international connectivity via satellite or transit from their neighbouring countries,” said SEACOM.
“That changed with the launch of the SEACOM submarine cable and the subsequent development of national fibre backbones that connect to SEACOM’s infrastructure.”
“Rwanda now has multiple routes to a number of submarine cables,” it said.
SEACOM’s new point of presence in Rwanda was launched in partnership with Rwandan ISP Broadband Systems Corporation.
Its point of presence in Botswana was launched in partnership with Botswanan ISP Abari Communications, and Botswana will now have access to the same SEACOM Service Provider product set as Johannesburg.”
