Openserve has started offering 200Mbps fibre wholesale services to ISPs, the company has confirmed.
It stated that the 200Mbps line option was opened to ISPs in recent weeks, which have started to list packages for consumers to purchase.
Previously, ISPs offering Openserve fibre services offered a maximum of 100Mbps down and 50Mbps up on a line.
The new offering from Openserve sees ISPs offering 200Mbps down and 100Mbps up.
Cool Ideas, for example, now offers a 200Mbps/100Mbps uncapped package for R2,409 per month.
Other fibre infrastructure providers, such as Frogfoot, Vumatel, and Cybersmart, already offer speeds of 200Mbps and greater – up to 1Gbps.
