Samsung’s Google Glass competitor coming soon: report

Samsung will launch a wearable device similar to Google Glass during September 2014 at the IFA trade show in Berlin, according to a recent report on BusinessKorea.
The device is currently being referred to as “Gear Glass” and is expected to feature a display over the right eye, an earpiece, and will run on the Tizen operating system.
This latest report echoes one from earlier in the year on Korea Times which also said that unnamed Samsung officials revealed that the Korean electronics giant would launch its own smart glasses at IFA.
Samsung is not the only electronics company to make a play for the smart glasses market.
Epson unveiled its new Moverio BT–200 smart glasses at CES 2014 in January and Sony showed off its SmartEyeglass concept at Mobile World Congress in February 2014.
