Altech Node: entertainment and smart home system coming soon

Altech has sent invitations to media for the launch of Node, which the large South African technology group bills as a “new complete entertainment and smart home experience”.

“One day we’ll wonder what we ever did without it,” the invitation promises.

Altech is a major technology group in South Africa with companies operating in the telecommunications, multimedia, and information technology sectors.

Among other things, they build decoders for MultiChoice through Altech UEC under their Altech Multimedia business unit, and play in South Africa’s cellular telecommunications space through Altech Autopage.

There are few details other than the launch date — Thursday, 18 September 2014 — and that the event will feature a number of local celebrities.

The launch will be hosted by Jeannie D, and will be followed by a party with entertainment by Farryl Purkis and DJ Fresh.
