The billionaire’s super yacht with hovering jet plane

Russian businessman and designer Vasily Klyukin has envisioned a super yacht that will put any luxury boat to shame – the Monaco 2050.

The luxury cruiser will include the usual bells and whistles one would expect, in addition to its trump card: a hovering jet plane.

“I truly believe that we can create a future giving… engineers direction to think,” Klyukin told CNN.

The planned yacht would allow passengers to cruise around the Mediterranean for breakfast, before flying home to Europe for lunch.

“The upper deck is the part of the yacht and the independent aircraft at the same time. If necessary, it will rise upwards with the help of the screws embedded in the wings, becoming a helicopter,” he said.

“It’s not possible to cross the Atlantic or to fly to Hong Kong by helicopter. Therefore, after gaining the necessary altitude and speed, it’s possible to turn on the jet engines and even go overseas.”

Despite no yacht-makers taking up the offer to build the Monaco 2050, Klyuklin said he will see the vessel built in his lifetime.

“We shouldn’t really have to wait for 35 years. Such a yacht can be started designing even today,” he said.

Renderings of the yacht are displayed below.
