With televisions, bigger is better, and if you have deep pockets you can purchase a TV in SA well over 100 inches in size.
In 2014 LG Electronics unveiled its 105-inch curved Ultra-HD television, which offers a resolution of 5120 x 2160 and a CinemaScope 21:9 aspect ratio.
The LG TV also offers a built-in 7.2 channel, 150W sound system developed in partnership with Harman Kardon.
While not as impressive as the LG TV, Samsung recently unveiled its new range of curved SUHD TVs for South Africa.
Samsung’s flagship model is the 88-inch JS9500, with a resolution of 3840 × 2160 and sports the SUHD re-mastering engine.
Other manufacturers like Hisense, Panasonic, and Sinotec are also competing in the South African market, but with more affordable devices.
