Completely wireless earbuds unveiled
Altec Lansing has unveiled its Freedom True Wireless Bluetooth Earbuds, one of the first earbud products to completely cut the cord – thanks to rechargeable lithium ion batteries built into the housings.
The new buds provide a “discreet and comfortable” listening experience with no wires hanging down the wearer’s back.
They feature a six-hour battery life, and IPX7-rated waterproof construction for perspiration-resistant wear.
To help with lost earbuds, they come with Bluetooth-based GPS tracking technology to enable recovery of misplaced units.
The Altec Lansing Earbuds are scheduled for a Q2 2016 release at a price of $149.99 (R2,300).
