MyBroadband set out to find the best televisions available to South African consumers, and had a simple strategy: ask the manufacturers.

LG, Hisense, and Samsung told us which of their models available in South Africa are the best, and the answers will surprise some.

The companies did not select their biggest or most expensive TVs. Rather, it was the most advanced TVs which were picked.

Here are the best TVs in South Africa, based on the feedback from the manufacturers.

LG – 65-inch EG960 4K OLED TV – R80,000

The EG960 is LG’s top Ultra HD 4K OLED TV in South Africa, and it incorporates the latest OLED and HD developments, the most recent version of webOS, and a new magic remote.

Hisense – 55-inch 55T910 ULED 2.0 Curved TV – R24,999

The Hisense 55T910 ULED 2.0 Curved TV offers a colourful, high-contrast picture in 4K resolution, with 144-zone local dimming, an extra-wide colour gamut, and backlight scan for super-smooth images.

Behind the screen is ULED 2.0 (Ultra LED) display technology, a Hisense development that is based on LCD displays with LED backlights.

Samsung – 65-inch KS9500 SUHD Curved TV – R64,999

This new SUHD TV from Samsung features cadmium-free 10-bit Quantum Dot Displays, with a quality standard of 1,000-nit HDR.
