Google to test delivery drones
Google is set to start testing delivery drones after The White House granted permission for its Project Wing service.
The Guardian reported that Google drones “will be tested in one of six designated Federal Aviation Authority areas within the US”.
The White House said since President Obama took office in 2009, developments in aviation, sensing, and software technology have powered a revolution in unmanned flight.
The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy has announced new steps to promote the safe integration and adoption of unmanned aircraft systems across the US.
It will expand on the Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration’s “Small UAS” rule to provide national guidelines for the operation of non-recreational unmanned aircraft under 25kg.
