Samsung launches 512GB flash chip for smartphones

Samsung has started producing the world’s first 512GB embedded Universal Flash Storage chip.
The chip can be used in smartphones and other mobile devices, with current top-end phones like the iPhone X featuring 256GB as their max storage model.
Sequential read and write speeds reach 860MB/s and 255MB/s respectively, while the unit has a random read speed of 42,000 IOPS and a write speed of 40,000 IOPS.
“The new Samsung 512GB eUFS provides the best embedded storage solution for next-generation premium smartphones,” said Samsung.
