Smart speaker adoption is growing fast in the US.
According to research from NPR and Edison Research, 17% of Americans – 39 million people – now own a smart speaker.
This is an increase of 128% compared to January 2017, stated the research.
The Amazon Echo and Google Home are two of the most popular smart speakers, and the products experienced strong sales during the holiday season.
The use cases for smart speakers differed among owners, with “smart home functionality” and “replacing traditional AM/FM radios” two of the most popular functions.
