All Oculus Rift headsets have stopped working

Every Oculus Rift VR headset around the world stopped working on 7 March.

The issue was reported on Reddit and was linked to a problem with an expired certificate.

Rift users were unable to use any software on their devices, with the device reporting it “Can’t reach Oculus Runtime Service”.

Head of Rift Nate Mitchell said on Twitter that the company is aware of the issue and is working to resolve it.

“A quick update: we’re still actively working on the issue,” said Mitchell.

“We’re looking at a few different ways to resolve this as quickly as possible.”

“We’ll let everyone know as soon as we have an ETA. Thanks for your patience.”
