iPhone 5 now set for October launch

Apple_iPhone_4s_iPhone_5_rumour

According to sources for news website All things D, previous rumours of a late September launch of the iPhone 5 are incorrect. October seems the more likely month for the iPhone 5 release, though no exact date was given.

Previous rumours of a late September launch were spurred on by wireless provider AT&T, who requested all staff be available for the last two weeks in September, possibly planning for a large launch event. This is unrelated to the iPhone 5 release, and according to a source claiming to be familiar with Apple’s plans, “I don’t know why AT&T’s calling for all hands on deck those weeks, but it’s not for an iPhone launch.”
