Galaxy Tab to get TouchWiz update
Samsung will release the TouchWiz update over the air (OTA) on 5 August for Galaxy Tab users, which includes an update to the interface, a new media hub service, Kies 2.0 support for PC and Mac, and enterprise oriented mobile features.
The TouchWiz UI update includes a live panel, which offers home screen widgets that display updates on news, social media feeds, e-mail and more.
The media hub now supports over 5,000 movies and TV shows, and allows users to pay for content once off, then share it among up to 5 other media hub devices.
Kies 2.0 offers new sharing options, as well as synchronisation with Outlook, Gmail and Yahoo mail.
Enterprise options include Microsoft’s Exchange ActiveSync version 14 support, built-in encryption of files, and the ability to connect Cisco’s Virtual Private Networks (VPN).
