Amazon unveils new Fire HD 10 tablet

Amazon has announced its updated Fire HD 10 tablet, which the company said has been “built from the ground up for entertainment.”

The Fire HD 10 sports a 10.1-inch Full HD display and up to 12 hours of mixed-use battery life.

It also includes up to 64GB storage, as well as support for up to a further 512GB storage via microSD.

“The all-new Fire HD 10 has everything you need for entertainment with plenty of storage for your favorite videos, games, music, and books at home or on the go,” said Amazon.

According to Amazon, tumble tests have shown that the Fire HD 10 is four times as durable as the latest iPad Pro.

The Fire HD 10 also sports 720P, 2MP cameras on both the front and back of the tablet.

It comes in four colours – Plum, Twilight Blue, Black, and White – and will begin shipping in the US on 30 October.

This tablet will cost $149.99 in the US. Pricing, availability, and a release date have not been announced for South Africa.
