Nokia first announced its much-anticipated range of Windows Phone 7 devices during Nokia World in October 2011, dubbing them “Lumia.”
There are two GSM devices in the range and Nokia previously confirmed that both will be launching in SA – the Nokia Lumia 800 and the Nokia Lumia 710.
At the top-end is the Nokia Lumia 800, which has a 1.4GHz Qualcomm processor, 3.7-inch AMOLED display running at a resolution of 480×800, 16GB of internal storage and 512MB RAM.
It’s younger, cheaper brother is the the Nokia Lumia 710 and it will only be launching locally in Q2 2012.
Nokia said that the Lumia 800 is expected to be available countrywide on Vodacom from 7 February 2012 on a Vodacom Business Call contract, with 100MB data per month for 24 months, at R279 per month.
Vodacom said that the recommended retail price of the Nokia Lumia 800 will be R6,999.
