Samsung Galaxy S3 pricing revealed

Vodacom will be running a special contract deal on the Samsung Galaxy S3 in the week leading up to its official launch, an industry source has revealed.

It is understood that the device will have a recommended retail price of just under R9,000 and be available on a 24-month Vodacom Business Call contract for R349 per month.

The contract will be available from tomorrow (29 May 2012) to the day before the official launch (6 June 2012) and include 250MB of data per month for the full 24-months.

A well-placed industry source revealed last week that the Samsung Galaxy S3 would be available at Vodacom World from 29 May 2012.

Vodacom has since confirmed this information in a tweet posted earlier today.

MTN and Vodacom both previously indicated that they expected to launch the Samsung Galaxy S3 in June 2012, with Cell C aiming for a July 2012 release.

At the official unveiling of the Galaxy S3 in London earlier in May, Samsung revealed that the global roll-out of the device would start in Europe on 29 May 2012.

This means that South Africans will be able to get their hands on the device on launch day.
