Cheapest 4K big-screen TVs in South Africa — including several options under R10,000
Higher-resolution TVs have increased in popularity in South Africa, and, as a result, the prices of 4K TVs have fallen considerably, including for models 65 inches and larger.
When LG launched its first 4K TV in 2012, it had an 84-inch panel and cost $20,000 (R164,230). However, South Africans can now grab a big-screen 4K TV from a well-known brand for as little as R8,999.
Big-screen TVs provide an immersive viewing experience when watching 4K content, which has become more accessible in South Africa.
Streaming services like Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, and Apple TV+ offer the resolution for some of their content, depending on your subscription tier.
MyBroadband searched for the cheapest 65-inch and larger TVs from prominent brands available in South Africa.
Coincidentally, all the options we found are also 4K TVs, which feature a 3,840×2,160-pixel resolution — around four times the amount of pixels used to produce a Full HD picture.
They are also all LED TVs, which offer improved viewing experiences over fluorescent-lit liquid crystal displays.
