Motorola Xoom 2 launched in SA

Motorola SA announced today (15 June 2012) that the Motorola Xoom 2 is available from 8ta on a 2-year Contract Basic S package from R199 per month.

The Motorola Xoom 2 runs on version 3.2 of Google’s Android operating system, “Honeycomb”, and boasts a 1.2GHz processor, 1GB RAM, and 16GB internal storage.

It has a 1280×800 in-plane switching display with Corning Gorilla glass and a splashguard coating, 5 megapixel rear camera, and 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera.

Outside of the usual micro USB port for charging and connecting to a PC, the Xoom 2 also has a micro HDMI port.

The tablet comes pre-loaded with Motorola’s MotoCast app, which lets users stream music, photos, videos and documents between their computer.

According to Motorola, users are able to stream the content without any media tools, app or additional cables.
