What’s your old iPad worth on trade-in?

iStore, the retail arm of South Africa’s official Apple distributor, Core Group, announced a limited trade-in offer to customers on its mailing list on Friday (31 May 2013).

Subscribers who received the e-mail can trade in their iPad 1 from R900, or iPad 2 from R1,500 until 30 June 2013.

These are “minimum trade-in values for units that are in good condition, in working order, and supplied with charger and cable,” the e-mail stated.

Customers trading in their iPads can then buy either an iPad Mini (starting at R3,599) or an iPad 4 (from R5,499) with the value.

You also get 1GB of 3G data for 6 months on Cell C (pending valid RICA documentation, and so long as you don’t trade in at Vodacom World), and a 3 month digital magazine subscription to a number of South African magazines.

“If you have already traded-in your iPad, please visit any iStore to claim your free 3G data and digital magazine subscription,” the e-mail states.
