New MacBook Air prices in South Africa
Core Group, official distributor of Apple products in South Africa, has announced the recommended retail prices of the newly refreshed line of MacBook Air notebook PCs.
Apple unveiled its refreshed MacBook Air range earlier this month (10 June 2013), announcing that the ultrabooks would use Intel’s new Haswell processors, promising improved battery life.
According to Apple, the new MacBook Air now offers “all day battery life” and also boasts support for the new 802.11ac Wi-Fi networking standard.
Core said that while it may suggest retail prices, these are suggestions only and resellers are free to decide the actual prices at which products will be sold.
iStore and Digicape already offer the new MacBook Air, Core said, adding that it will be available through more partners soon.
Core’s recommended pricing is summarised in the table below along with the launch prices of the previous models. It is worth noting that the Rand is much weaker against foreign currencies than it was when the MacBook Air was last refreshed in 2012.
