New Nokia Asha phones unveiled

Nokia has announced the Nokia Asha 500, 502 and 503 at its Nokia World event in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, 22 October 2013.
Stephen Elop, CEO of Nokia, introduced the new devices, focusing the announcement around the camera functionality on the new Asha devices.
He summarised the design as “one swipe to capture, one touch to share”.
- The Nokia Asha 500 has a recommended retail price of $69, features a 2 megapixel (MP) camera, and a 2.8-inch screen. It will come in single SIM or easy-swap dual SIM variants.
- The Nokia Asha 502 has a recommended retail price of $89, features a 3-inch screen and 5MP camera, and easy-swap dual SIM.
- The Nokia Asha 503 also has a 3-inch screen and 5MP camera, but includes support for high-speed 3G networks (HSPA+). It is set to retail for $99.
All three devices are set start shipping this quarter to Africa, Latin America, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and Europe.
WhatsApp support
WhatsApp founder Jan Koum announced at Nokia’s event that WhatsApp would be available on these new Asha devices.
He also said that although the typically don’t disclose daily stats, he wanted to reveal that they register 250,000 people across Nokia devices everyday.
