iPad Air launched in South Africa, trade-in offered
iStore has confirmed in a newsletter that the iPad Air went on sale in South Africa on Wednesday, 4 December 2013 starting at R5,999, or R379 per month.
The company has also announced a trade-in programme that will reduce monthly instalments by “at least R100” when buying an iPad with a cellular contract.
iPad 2, iPad 3, and iPad 4 devices can be traded in for the discount, iStore said.
Both the Wi-Fi only and Cellular models of the new iPad Air are available in silver and “space grey”, iStore said.
The cash prices for the iPad Air Wi-Fi only model are as follows:
- R5,999 for the 16GB model
- R7,399 for the 32GB model
- R8,699 for the 64GB model
- R9,999 for the 128GB model
The iPad Air with Wi-Fi + Cellular has the following recommended retail prices:
- R7,799 for the 16GB model
- R8,999 for the 32GB model
- R9,999 for the 64GB model
- R11,499 for the 128GB model
On contract, the base price (before trade-in discount) of the 16GB iPad Air Wi-Fi on Vodacom MyGig 1 is R379 per month.
iStore is also advertising a 16GB Wi-Fi + Cellular on Vodacom MyGig 1 for R429 without any trade-in discounts.
