PlayStation 4 launched in South Africa – price details

The Sony PlayStation 4 console has launched in South Africa today (13 December 2013) at a suggested retail price of R6,299 for the standard package (PS4 console + 1 DualShock 4 remote).
The launch lineup includes 20 first- and third-party games, with platform exclusives such as Knack and Killzone: Shadow Fall. Over 30 games should be available by the end of 2013, says Sony.
PS4’s games portfolio expands in 2014 with exclusive games such as inFAMOUS: Second Son and new IP, including The Order 1886, Watch_Dogs, and #DRIVECLUB.
Ster Kinekor Entertainment, distributor of Sony products, previously confirmed to MyGaming the following launch pricing on bundles, peripherals and games.
PS4 Killzone Shadow Fall Bundles RRP
- PS4 console, 1 DualShock 4 remote, Killzone Shadow Fall – R6,899
- PS4 console, 2 x DualShock 4 remote, PlayStation 4 Eye, Killzone Shadow Fall – R7,799
Third party PS4 bundles
The following launch bundles include the standard PS4 package (console + 1 remote) and one third-party game, all with an RRP of R6,899.

- Battlefield 4 PS4 bundle
- Need For Speed rivals PS4 bundle
While PS Plus subscriptions are typically bundled as well, the details on the duration of bundled subscriptions is not available at this time.
