Ster Kinekor Entertainment (SKE), distributor of Sony Entertainment Products in SA, says it has secured additional PlayStation 4 in time for last minute Christmas shopping. The additional units will be delivered across the retailer network on 23 and 24 December.

The PS4 console launched in South Africa on 13 December 2013 at a suggested retail price of R6,299 for the standard package (PS4 console + 1 DualShock 4 remote).

“We are overwhelmed with how the PlayStation 4 has done since its launch earlier this month,” said Mario dos Santos, Chief Executive Officer of Ster Kinekor Entertainment.

“We have been pushing on all fronts in the hope we would be able to land additional units in time for Christmas which, thanks to the efforts of a brilliant team, we have managed to do – so anyone still wanting to get their hands on the PlayStation 4 console should head into stores as soon as possible.”

The launch lineup includes 20 first- and third-party games, with platform exclusives such as Knack and Killzone: Shadow Fall. Over 30 games should be available by the end of 2013, says Sony.

PS4’s games portfolio expands in 2014 with exclusive games such as inFAMOUS: Second Son and new IP, including The Order 1886, Watch_Dogs, and #DRIVECLUB.
