YouTube Gaming launching
YouTube Gaming will launch on 26 August, offering video creators a way to live stream gameplay to viewers, Ars Technica has reported.
The service will go head-to-head with Twitch.tv, the streaming service Google tried to acquire last year, but lost to Amazon.
Google said YouTube Gaming will be the “go-to destination for anything and everything gaming”. It will show who is live streaming and serve as a collection point for all gaming content on YouTube.
YouTube Gaming automatically categories YouTube’s gaming content and sorts it by game and by the content in the video.
Ars Technica also reported that a beta version of the new YouTube live streaming dashboard will become available.
YouTube gaming is expected to be available at gaming.youtube.com later today, and should work wherever YouTube is available.
