Black Ops servers coming to SA
Exclusive Call of Duty: Black Ops server proprietors, Gameservers.com, have announced that they will be expanding to South Africa. This means that local PC gamers will get dedicated Call of Duty: Black Ops servers. Great news for SA gamers and a happy ending to the worrisome Black Ops dedicated server saga.
Local ISP MWEB managed to broker the deal, and will be heavily involved in the maintenance and coordination of the servers.
MWEB has not sent out its official press release, but we are aware that they are involved in the project.
In the early hours of this morning, Gameservers sent out the following email:
Dear Gamer,
GameServers.com is proud to announce that we have just opened availability for Call of Duty Black Ops game servers in South Africa. These servers are available on a first come first serve basis so if you wish to purchase a server at this location, please reserve your server early!
You will now see that 2 South African locations have been added to Gameservers’ catalog; Cape Town and Johannesburg.
Exactly how the servers will be distributed is unclear, but in all likelyhood, ISP’s will be able to rent them directly from Gameservers, or from MWEB.
More details should be revealed later today.
