New PlayStation 4.5 specifications revealed: report

Sources have confirmed to Giant Bomb that the new version of the PlayStation 4 – referred to as the PS4.5 – is coming, and is code-named Neo.
Sony did not reply to questions from Giant Bomb, with the publication stating the new console will sell for $399 in the US.
The Neo console will feature higher clock speeds, an improved graphics processing unit, and higher bandwidth on the memory, according to the report.
“From October, PS4 games are required to ship with both a Base Mode, which will run on the current PS4, and a Neo Mode for use on the new console,” stated the report.
The Neo will support 4K output, but the games are not required to be native 4K.
According to the report, the Neo console will be compatible with the current PS4 ecosystem, including the PSN store, online play, and games.
