The top 12 games of Christmas
A panel of UK gaming experts has butted heads until a list of the 12 games that will be the most sought after for Christmas 2010 clattered down the chute.
Assembled to mark the 2010 Golden Joystick Awards (the culmination of the annual London Games Festival) a panel comprising of 40 editors and writers for games magazines, including Edge and GamesMaster magazines and websites CVG.co.uk, T3.com and TechRadar.com, were tasked with predicting the games that will have insatiable gaming minds begging parents, loved ones and strangers on the street to make a purchase.
In an predictable turn of events, the next iteration of the wildly popular Call of Duty FPS franchise leads the list of games predictions. Call of Duty: Black Ops is slated as the number one most desirable game for Christmas 2010.
However, a strong following pack will be making the challenge for the number one Christmas sales chart spot. Without further ado, here is the full list of the 12 hottest games of Christmas 2010 with which you will desire to deck your gaming halls (fa la la la la, la la la la).

Let’s not forget that the Xbox 360 Kinect will also be making its retail debut in time for Christmas and whilst the Kinect launch titles might not be topping any ‘best-seller’ lists, the Kinect and Move will certainly be duking it out in the console peripherals space.
James Binns, Publisher of Edge spokesperson for the Golden Joystick Awards said: “2010 has been a vintage year for video gaming and that is borne out by the strength and breadth of our tips for best-seller status this Xmas. Our team has debated long into the night to create this rundown and whilst ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops’ may be the front runner for the Xmas Number One spot, it has some serious competition.”
