A hacking group called PoodleCorp has claimed responsibility for taking down the Pokémon Go servers.
According to a report by the Independent, the group used a DDOS attack to bring down the game.
“Just was a lil test, we will do something on a larger scale soon,” said the group via a Twitter post.
PoodleCorp also recently targeted gaming YouTubers such as Pewdiepie, according to the report.
Pokémon Go players reacted angrily to the game being down on 16 July, with US and European players taking to social media to voice their dissatisfaction.
