PlayStation Plus subscription price increases
PlayStation Plus subscription prices in the US and Canada will increase from 22 September, Sony has announced.
“If you are a current member, the new prices will take effect if your membership renews on or after this date,” said Sony.
“This marks the first time that PS Plus membership prices will increase in the US and Canada since the launch of the service in 2010.”
PlayStation Plus memberships will change to:
- 12-month membership – $59.99 USD/$69.99 CAD
- 3-month membership – $24.99 USD/$29.99 CAD
- 1-month membership – $11.99 CAD (remains $9.99 USD)
No word on South Africa
The European PlayStation blog and the SA PlayStation Store had not posted subscription price increases at the time of writing.
Gamespot noted that there was a PlayStation Plus price hike in the UK in 2015, while South Africa experienced a price hike in 2014.
