The founder of game developer Bandai Namco Ltd, Masaya Nakamura, has passed away at the age of 91.
Nakamura was known as the “father of Pac-Man”.
Nakamura established Nakamura Manufacturing, which went on to become the Nakamura Amusement Machine Manufacturing Company (Namco) in 1956, stated the BBC.
The company released Pac-Man in 1980, which went on to become the highest-grossing arcade game of all time.
Nakamura was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun and was inducted into the International Video Game Hall of Fame during his lifetime.
