Tencent will limit play time for users under the age of 18 for one of its mobile games, following complaints that the game is too addictive for children, reported Reuters.
Parents complained that children were addicted to the company’s Honour of Kings multiplayer game.
Tencent now allows players under 12 to play for a maximum of one hour per day, and players between 12-18 to play for up to two hours.
The report said the company will also stop players younger than 12 from accessing the game after 21:00 and will impose restrictions on how much money younger users spend.
Honour of Kings is the top-grossing Chinese mobile game worldwide.
