Valve has banned over 40,000 Steam accounts following its annual Steam Summer Sale.
The day after the sale concluded, a record 40,445 Steam accounts received a VAC (Valve anti-cheat) ban for cheating, according to data from SteamDB.
The VAC ban wave was the biggest in Steam’s history, eclipsing the previous record of 15,227 VAC bans.
An additional 5,000 users received game bans on 6 July, which ban an account from playing a certain game online.
