Gamevice is suing Nintendo for allegedly infringing the patents used in its Android gaming tablet the Wikipad, and its add-on controllers for phones and tablets, Engadget reported.
In its complaint, Gamevice said the removable Joy-Con controllers of the Nintendo Switch are too close to how it envisioned a detachable game controller and a device combination with a flexible bridge section.
It has called for Switch sales to be halted and has asked the court for damages. This comes after the Switch has performed well in international markets, with the gaming console producing strong sales numbers.
Engadget reported that Gamevice declined to comment on the lawsuit.
