R680,000 tournament for MTN’s subscription gaming service

MTN is sponsoring R680,000 in prize money to the GameZBoost Summer Challenge 2017, a tournament on MTN Play.

MTN Play is a R2-per-day subscription service on the GameZBoost platform, which includes access to over 350 HTML5 games.

Subscribers are eligible to play in the Summer Challenge, where a grand finale tournament sees R600,000 in prize money on the line.

Four satellite rounds will precede the finale, with winners and runners-up from each group taking home R10,000. You may only place in one satellite tournament.

The finale will be held at rAge 2017 and is a single elimination tournament. The winner will receive a prize of R300,000, second place gets R200,000, and third place wins R100,000.

GameZBoost launched its gaming service on MTN Play in 2016, offering titles with competitive multiplayer and MMO games with persistent worlds.

Subscribers can also create contests to challenge their Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp friends, and earn loyalty points which may be redeemed for rewards.

Games are built using HTML5 and run across a variety of devices.
