What to look forward to at rAge 2017

rAge 2017 is set to kick off this weekend, featuring gaming and hardware exhibits, eSports tournaments, and much more.

The expo will take place from 6-8 October at the Ticketpro Dome in Johannesburg.

There are a lot of events happening over the weekend, and gamers will have their hands full trying to experience every exhibit.

We’ve broken down what you can look forward to at rAge 2017, below.

Hardware

PC components, consoles, peripherals, and other hardware will be on sale at the event.

Highlights include HP’s Omen gaming machines, Astrum peripherals, custom-made mousepads, and custom water-cooled gaming PCs.

Development

Many game development organisations will have exhibits at the event, educating visitors about the game development industry.

WeThinkCode, Vega School, AS Game Development College, and The Innovation Hub will exhibit at rAge.

Merchandise

Geek and gaming merchandise will be on sale at rAge, with everything from comics to clothing on offer.

Other products for sale will include gaming-related art, jewellery, and airsoft supplies.

Games

The latest games for PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and other platforms will be available at rAge.

Gamers will also be able to play pre-release versions of a number of titles, including Middle-Earth: Shadow of War and Call of Duty: WWII.

eSports

rAge 2017 plays host to the biggest eSport events of the year, the VS Gaming Championships and the ESLA Africa grand finals.

The tournaments will see South Africa’s best Counter-Strike and Dota 2 players going for million-rand prize pools.

Other tournaments at the events encompass Hearthstone, Call of Duty, Battlefield 4, and Overwatch.

Competitions

There will be numerous competitions and giveaways running throughout the event.

Gamers can enter to win prizes from Matrix Warehouse, Codation, and Kwesé Gamer.
