Tamagotchis are back
Bandai America is re-releasing the Tamagotchi in North America at $15 each, reported Eurogamer.
The underlying technology of the keychain toy has not been upgraded, but Bandai has shrunk the unit by 60%.
It will feature the old LCD display – without backlight – and the three-button control scheme it launched with in the 1990s.
This follows Bandai relaunching its best-selling toy in Europe in 2013 as the Tamagotchi Friends.
Tamagotchi Friends launched in the US in 2014 at $19.99.
