VS Gaming has signed a rights agreement with EA Sports to host a Fifa eWorld Cup Qualifier in 2018.
Players will compete to represent South Africa at the Global Series Playoffs in August 2018, said VS Gaming’s Wanda Mkhize.
The VS Gaming Cup will have 1,024 players this year, making it the largest Fifa gaming tournament on the continent, and the second largest in the world.
Gamera across Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will compete – 512 per platform.
The event will be divided into eight pools per platform, consisting of a maximum of 64 players per pool, and over R1.5 million is up for grabs.
