Cloud Remote for PlayStation 4 launched

Sony has officially licensed a Cloud Remote for the PlayStation 4, unveiling the device on the PlayStation Blog.

The remote is programmable and uses the downloadable PDP Cloud Remote App. This allows users to access “advanced cloud technology to auto-detect devices connected to the PlayStation for hassle-free remote programming”.

Sony said the benefits of the Cloud Remote include:

• Controls for power, input, and volume for TVs.
• Hassle-free cloud-assisted technology for programming remote.
• Connects via Bluetooth to control your PS4.
• A 30-day free trial of the PlayStation Vue Core plan worth $49.99.

The Cloud Remote will be available for $29.99 in the US, with pre-orders now open.

It will start shipping on 18 September 2018.
